Quick updates:

This Friday 9.10-10.00 (our free period) will be stolen by a visit to the school counselor. No need of split up of groups.

WikiIP requires updating. So I need each of you to write something about yourself (around 10 words). Anything funny or lame is fine. Don't write about others. Website can be found http://njcip.net/wiki/07ip03

Freaky Z is made up of F, A, Z; coming from his name Fazli. Freaky Z also symbolizes his funny-man antics and his brand of cabaret-style comedy rap.

Rapper/producer Freaky Z gained popularity returning from Kansas City after winning a ticket to see Eminem there in a local contest. With the new inspiration and energy from meeting his idol, he was determined to carve out an original concept for his own performances and music. And that’s exactly what he did.

He uses personal experiences, and mocks people from his real life encounters through humorous songs like “Poppa’s Got A New Wife” about his father’s bigamous ways, and “Same Woman Again” telling the story about falling for the wrong girl.

Funny by nature, Freaky Z combines situational comedy with Hiphop music. This results in an original soundscape of bass-heavy funk rhythms, and minor chord progressions typical of Latin and Malay music alike, hitting the right notes with all audiences, and not just Hiphop fans.

He produces under the moniker, The F Word, and has been an undeniable factor in the beat-making circle, helping the very popular to the novice with his custom-made beats, always tinged with the Freaky Z signature.

On a more serious note, Freaky Z is also a brain tumour patient since 2001. Being diagnosed with a major ailment at such a young and promising age did have its downtime. However, he insists that laughter is the best medicine and that’s how his music will be a true remedy for himself and he hopes that for others, as well.

(This is freaking crazyyyy.) Plius, he works at Ikea as a supervisor. Went across his friendster page while searching for his songs. :/ Pretty sad, huh.

While waiting for the horror movie to load below, you can check out the new list of songs on your right:

1) White and Nerdy - Weird Al: A spoof on Chamillionaire's Ridin' Dirty. Should take a look at the lyrics.
2) Same Woman Again - FreakyZ: This guy needs no introduction. That's the rapper during poetry slam.
3) Fast Food Song - Fast Food Rockers: The only good song from the band. Got it from a distant person.
4) Makes Me Wonder - Maroon 5: This one no need to say anything.

And hopefully these songs will help you in your LA poetry rubbish. Uh maybe except the chorus of the third song.

Lawrence. Who is still waiting for his PS3. Or a new laptop. Choose.

For those who are excessively lazy/do not comprehend the previous post, (note the bolded parts)

Tomorrow (Wednesday 18th July) is Racial Harmony Day. It is a CIP day. Our class will be organizing Ethnic Games for little children (NOT 15-year-olds, more like 8-year-olds).

Total time: 1 hour (not confirmed!! but around there)
No. Of Kids: 50

The 50 kids will be divided into 5 groups of 10 each. There will be 5 stations, where each group of 10 kids will spend roughly 10 minutes.

The stations:

1) Musical Statues (Jac, Sophia)
2) Hopscotch (Jennings, Dawn, Elsie, Zihao)
3) 5 stones (Emily)
4) Chopsticks (Wen Jie, Jade, Ben, Ryan)
5) Language Learning (Stef, Lisa, Amrit)

The people whose names are bolded are the STATION LEADERS of the station.

Since there are 5 groups of kids, there are 5 group leaders: Jing Ho, Liz, Lawrence, Yuen Wai, Justin (??????).

Those who don't have roles may be roped into either:
  1. Cleaning up duty (which everyone is probably going to do anyway)
  2. Being a group leader (to replace Jing Ho who might not make it for tmr's CIP)
  3. Helping out in the stations.
  4. Help the group leaders/help with the kids

I hate to say this, but IF YOU ARE NOT SEEN DOING WORK, I might tell the teachers that, and you won't get your CIP hours/points. But since we are all community loving, we all strive to give back to community what it has so generously given us (eg. shaky chairs and exhuast and whatever), so you guys better not slack.

This is not an idle threat. You have been warned. :)

I heart you guys! - Liz.

Ps. WHAT IS UP WITH THE SUCKY MUSIC?!?!?!!? And the stupid Vincent song?!

And I know you guys probably have a LOT of questions like what time it starts/ends, what time can we leave etc etc. Yeah I'm real sorry but neither Lawrence and I were told. I DONT THINK THERE ARE LESSSONS. Not sure though. Yup.

VERY IMPORTANT

Racial Harmony Day.

Apparently Mr Nah has already picked us to do the games and 04 does the prizes. So after a quick discussion with Mr Chris Ho, we've come up with station games. Here are our games:

1) Musical Statues (Ethical Music played)
2) Hopscotch (requiring masking tape)
3) 5 stones (not rocks)
4) Chopsticks (as in carrying the fishball [ping pong ball] one)
5) Language Learning (malay, jap, chinese, tamil/punjabi etc)

The time frame wasn't stated so it should be around 10 mins per station, if that's enough. We'll be hosting 50 children (presumably primary school kids) and so we'll be splitting them into 5 groups of 10. If we have excess time to spare, we'll be having a drawing corner where they can express their creativity.

Things we need to bring:
Laptop + Speakers
Ethical Music (Lawrence will be doing it)
Masking Tape
Chopsticks (4 sets)
Ping Pong Balls

Anyway please encourage the class to constantly check out the class blog because the class relay system is a bit messed up. So I'll be posting updates here.

And I still want my PS3.

Hello!

We’re a group of students from 05IP03 doing a Youth for Causes project, sponsored by Citibank, in a bid to raise funds for the Children’s Cancer Foundation. CCF is a non-profit Voluntary Welfare Organization which aims to provide aid to young children who are stricken with cancer through means to enhance their quality of life.

As a Voluntary Welfare Organization, financial support from the public means a lot.

We aim to sell merchandise such as notebooks (with covers designed by the children at CCF) to raise funds for the CCF during a series of sales days at popular hang-outs. We are looking for volunteers to aid us in this bid to raise funds for charity, by helping us to sell these merchandise. CIP hours will be given accordingly.

Please honor your commitment if you do decide to sign up. Thank you.

Sales Day: 21 July 2007 (Saturday)

Shifts: Morning (8 am to 12 noon), Afternoon (2 pm to 6 pm)

A briefing will be held where further details will be given.
